BIG NEWS!!!
The Evansdale Cedar River Bridge is set to reopen. The grand opening ceremony is scheduled for July 31st 2011 at 4:00 P.M. Park at Jewett Elementary School. After that you can walk/ride to the trailhead or take the tram ride.
Sit back and engage your senses. Imagine yourself on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail (CVNT), what do your senses reveal to you. You see many things; a flash of brilliant blue from a bluebird banking against the sun; a monarch butterfly floating effortlessly on a fall breeze; a sea of silver over a marsh that is bathed in the noonday sun. You hear the enchanting songs of birds drawing you like Sirens to the woods. You feel the anticipation as your mind rounds a familiar bend to a hill blanketed in bluebells. You sense the weather, cold then hot, dry now wet, pressing against you, reminding that there is much in nature we cannot control. You sense the smell of the land; You can taste its many flavors as your mind moves from forest to prairie, marsh to river, cropland to pasture.
The CVNT is a unique linier trial stretching 52 miles and I am sure it touches each of our senses in different ways. Please explore this website for recreational opportunities and then come out and enjoy the nature trail.
