UPDATE REGUARDING THE LA PORTE CITY FESTIVAL OF TRAILS! (07-13-08)

The La Porte City Festival of Trails scheduled for June 13th-15th has been rescheduled for August 22nd-24th. The fireworks are scheduled for Friday night and the parade is scheduled for Saturday morning. There will be no car show but the cruise is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. There will be booths bands and other entertainment downtown during the weekend, however there will be no carnival rides during this event due to the rescheduling. For more information contact the City of La Porte directly. Our hog roast is still scheduled for that weekend as well.

Picture mature oak trees on a sandy knoll at the confluence of the Cedar River and Wolf Creek. Also picture wandering woodland trails and a manicured campground. Imagine a woodland cabin, picnic shelter, shower house, playground, boat ramp and dump station for RV or pull campers. Throw in few woodland pools; a lot of wildlife and you have McFarlane Park.

McFarlane is quite a campground and is a great place to enjoy nature or bring friends and circle the wagons. So whether you want to sit in the dark and listen to the lonely hoot of the Barred Owl or sit by the fire and enjoy the company of friends, McFarlane is your choice.

This is what our new road looks like (if it isn't flooded) This enables us to get the road open a lot faster after the winter and a flood. Also it's a lot less dusty and nicer to drive; ride; or walk on.

Boy's will be Boys

Introducing the Mud-Brigade! At least that's what I've decided they should be called. They discovered that after 3 weeks of rain that the back trails can be a bit muddy. Although that didn't seem to bother them.
