It's FINISHED! WOO-HOO! It's been a long ride and an entire summer but the new shelter is finished and has already been used. The pictures below are not the finished product. I'll be taking new pictures and posting them soon. Check out our Volunteers In Action section to see some construction photos!

It took quite a few steps back to get the entire shelter in view. In these pictures as you can see the shelter roof is not finished. At the end of construction the entire roof will look like the picture on the left instead of the right. We will also be replacing the pit toilets but that won't be happening before September.

Check out the inside of this roof! It's a completely different look than the old one!

This shelter is considerably bigger than the previous one! Part of it will also be enclosed like the old shelter. After the new shelter is finished we will remove the open part of the old shelter and add a basketball hoop to the end of the cement so park users will be able to play basketball. Until the new shelter is finished the old is still available for use.

The Arch McFarlane Shelter is located on the road between the boat ramp and the campground. The shelter has lighting inside and there are four electrical outlets located on the counter in the shelter, the area is stocked with picnic tables, and has two charcoal grills located right outside for convenient GOOD cooking. If your more of the roast over the fire type or want to sit around a fire a fire ring is also set up for your convenience. A water hydrant is right behind the shelter. The shelter is free to use, however if you want to guarantee use on a certain date and time then we encourage you to make a reservation For information on reservations please go to our rates section

Want to play some volleyball? We have a net setup right behind the shelter! This is open to anybody anytime although preference will be given to those who reserve the shelter. Did you forget your ball? No problem just ask to borrow ours! Volleyball not your game? Ask the park officer to borrow some of our other sports equipment!

The playground is conveniently located right between the shelter and the campground!

Separate Male and Female restrooms are located right next to the shelter.
